19:20:59 <andythenorth> I wondered about the orders
19:21:17 <andythenorth> to me it seems like another boil-the-ocean issue
19:21:56 <frosch123> it's easier to explain people shared orders than to extend the limit :)
19:22:02 <andythenorth> are we making a game for 15 AIs to play on 4k^2 maps?
19:22:33 <andythenorth> frosch123 you're on record that it's not just a trivial/arbitrary limit?
19:22:34 <frosch123> i know about two people who reached the limit in 12 years, and they were quite excited when someone explained them shared orders
19:23:02 <frosch123> andythenorth: i think the limit is the command structure
19:23:42 <frosch123> hmm, though they use vehicle-local order ids
19:24:06 <nielsm> what about when creating the orders?
19:24:25 <andythenorth> James103 has an interestingly detailed approach to testing
19:24:39 <andythenorth> it looks like he did a really complete accurate diagnosis
19:24:50 <andythenorth> for facts that could have been achieved by reading 2 lines of code
19:25:22 <frosch123> hmm. it may be a trivial limit
19:26:38 <frosch123> still needs a savegame bump
19:27:46 <nielsm> when I see screenshots that include the taskbar, and see WMP and the uwp mail app pinned, I always wonder if it's because someone is actually using those, or they don't know how to unpin them, or they just can't bother to

20:54:11 <Xaroth> .. I need to get the old music on my OpenTTD install
20:55:40 * andythenorth will judge playstyle :)
20:55:48 <andythenorth> I can't zoom in :(
20:56:01 <andythenorth> we should add multiplayer, with spectator mode?
20:57:20 <Xaroth> planetmaker will have a heart attack at that track layout
20:58:21 <andythenorth> yeah definitely you want that engine
20:58:31 <andythenorth> I build tracks like that also
20:58:58 <Xaroth> You need to play more OpenTTDCoop :P
20:59:24 <andythenorth> nielsm: this is great, it's like watching user testing
20:59:45 <andythenorth> have you noticed you can obsess over integer train lengths with Horse 2?
21:00:19 <andythenorth> most newgrfs result in odd decimal fraction lengths
21:00:33 <andythenorth> Horse can always make an integer for engine + wagons + caboose
21:00:45 <glx> am I the only one trying to move the view ?
21:01:03 <andythenorth> I do this on YT tank game videos too
21:01:08 <andythenorth> I try and look for enemies
21:01:13 <Xaroth> glx: You are definitely not alone
21:01:32 <andythenorth> very flat map :)
21:01:38 <nielsm> if it is you'd head bird screaming
21:02:25 <andythenorth> nielsm: found any of the pointless easter eggs yet? o_O
21:02:38 <andythenorth> well, they're features really :P
21:02:45 <andythenorth> but I think I'm the only one who cars
21:03:39 <andythenorth> you can ctrl-click to flip livery on pax and mail wagons
21:03:41 <andythenorth> and on hopper cars
21:04:06 * nielsm should have checked whether the sc-55 is hooked up to line in
21:04:15 <nielsm> then I'd play music through that instead of ms soft synth
21:06:59 <andythenorth> so relaxing watching someone else play
21:07:04 <andythenorth> no need to actually do anything
21:07:22 <andythenorth> like the log fire channel on satellite TV
21:16:17 <andythenorth> this makes me want to finish the broken sprites :P
21:16:30 <andythenorth> it's painful on other people's screens :)
21:16:36 <andythenorth> oh you have flashing tail lights on the wagons
21:16:39 <andythenorth> I don't get those
21:16:48 <andythenorth> I can't use 'full animation'
21:18:16 <andythenorth> it's a bit of a debate about where to align trains
21:18:26 <andythenorth> rails are too wide
21:18:38 <nielsm> neither of those two looked really good yea
21:19:12 <andythenorth> I am replicating original base set positioning
21:19:17 <andythenorth> except where I did it wrong
21:21:47 <nielsm> I loooooove path signals
21:30:19 <andythenorth> lack of station name disturb me greatly
21:31:16 <andythenorth> I always keep them on :)
21:31:30 <andythenorth> or was I just missing them?
21:31:49 * andythenorth must go to the pub also
21:31:51 *** andythenorth has left #openttd
21:35:36 * nielsm wonders who the remaining viewer is
21:35:43 <nielsm> (or is it just myself)
21:38:06 <nielsm> bus service expected biweekly
21:43:14 <frosch123> is it plausible that the official mediawiki docker is incomplete and does not work at all?
21:46:08 <frosch123> also is it plausbile that mediawiki do branches in git like in svn, i.e. with directories?
22:12:18 <nielsm> I should stop this and get some sleep
22:13:27 <LordAro> frosch123: that is what they do?
22:14:16 <frosch123> it is actually forked from some other guy
22:14:38 <frosch123> the stuff from the other guy looks good, they added directories for mediawiki versions
22:14:53 <frosch123> but the real stuff is only in some directory which is not used by the docker image
22:15:17 <frosch123> so, the official mediawiki docker image on docker hub completely lacks the apache configuration
22:15:39 <frosch123> i am now trying the docker from that guy, where official is forked from
22:15:55 <frosch123> at least it looks like it contains the stuff that i found missing when debugging :p
22:19:42 <LordAro> no idea about docker, but mediawiki itself separates itself (and pretty much all extensions) into release branches
22:41:12 <planetmaker> Xaroth, I shall be fine with about most track layouts ;)
22:42:53 <nielsm> I usually avoid tight turns, but in this case freight trains faster than 96 km/h weren't available anyway so it didn't make much of a difference
22:43:40 <planetmaker> I built that before. But with 90° turns disabled, those were used in balancer-like or priority-line-merge constructions
22:44:30 <nielsm> but uh, bed, I think I was on my way there a while ago
continue to next day ⏵
