18:09:25 <ST2> if you sell an entire train on a depot -> convert the depot -> buy a new train (now with other tracks)

18:10:09 <Alberth> usually, we use a NewGRF that avoids the upgrade need, or we play at some other year, or a shorter game
18:11:23 <Alberth> upgrade tracks but not the depot; build a new depot, buy new train, copy orders from old train, then clone the new train

18:14:01 <john> Yeah, that's what I did. It gets a little tedious, though, and you have to change the name of the new train manually AFAIK
18:14:03 <Alberth> another option is to not do boring mass-upgrade, but build new tracks with the new rail type. It's faster, so you can go further, or build express trains, etc
