07:53:51 <peter1138> Well. Nearly 9am already 😦
07:54:19 <LordAro> i've been up since 5 :(
07:55:13 <peter1138> Probably just sneaked another 100km in then.

08:42:41 <johnfranklin> Jet lag is a good thing as long as moving westward, since I could get up earlier

09:12:07 <peter1138> Rotating buildings to match the roads is a weird design choice.
09:13:29 *** aperezdc has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)
09:14:04 <reldred> Yeah I've never been fond of it, but driveways and fences that don't connect to anything ends up looking funky.
09:14:18 <reldred> (plus it's a pain in the ass to code)
09:14:31 <peter1138> Doing it on build is fine.
09:14:38 <peter1138> Doing it after is... odd.
09:17:02 *** aperezdc has joined #openttd
09:19:57 <reldred> I've tried to avoid it like the plague. I prefer to do all fancy logic on construction
09:21:59 <kuhnovic> A few years back I built quite a nice garden room completely from scratch. Insulated and very much overbuilt, it was great. When moving I seriously considered getting a crane / truck to ship it to my new house.
09:22:53 <kuhnovic> In the end it wasn't worth the hassle, but it would have been fun
09:53:44 *** garlic_bread42 has joined #openttd
09:53:46 <garlic_bread42> I've got a weird Bananas-error, again. While uploading the file, it loads up until 30,79%, resets to 16% and goes up again. After reaching 30,79% a few times, it throws out the following error: `gets0.6.grf Error: tus: failed to upload chunk at offset 52428800, caused by [object ProgressEvent], originated from request (method: PATCH, url: https://bananas-api.openttd.org/new-
09:53:46 <garlic_bread42> package/tus/ef90ca0e5e4a6c40a82af01369367936, response code: n/a, response text: n/a, request id: n/a)`
09:54:31 <garlic_bread42> the link leads to a 50MB-file named gets0.6 - anything i can do on my side?

11:10:29 <yiffgirl> got an appointment tomorrow but hopefully i can be a bit more active here again after that
12:51:46 <brickblock19280> what is the limit for road and tram types? is it 64 or 63 becouse nml uses 63 which is odd
12:54:44 <dwfreed> not really odd; the internal limit's probably 64, which is 6 bits, but the built-in type uses one, so you get 63 extra (I don't actually know, just guessing here)
12:56:33 <brickblock19280> that might be true but given that the built in types for railtypes number to 4 it would then logically be 60
12:57:35 <brickblock19280> in which case I would argue they should be increased to the full 64 since built in types aren't always used
13:21:33 <pickpacket> I always forget what the limits on cargo IDs are, or why different industry sets don't work together
13:21:43 <pickpacket> it has something to do with cargo ID iirc
13:36:45 <andythenorth> there are 64 cargos per game
13:40:46 <brickblock19280> is there a preformance reason for that?

14:07:08 <peter1139> Okay, was that bad noise due to dirty vinyl, or was it my RIAA pre-amp battery failing...
14:08:36 <peter1139> Might've been a hair landing on it or something...

14:58:49 <truebrain> we are bbbaaccccckkkkk
14:59:01 <truebrain> You didn't miss much, on the IRC side. Just peter rambling about 64.
14:59:49 <truebrain> first time the bot actually hang itself; not sure why
15:00:12 <truebrain> `Shard ID None heartbeat blocked for more than 10 seconds.`
15:01:06 <truebrain> `[SSL: UNEXPECTED_EOF_WHILE_READING] EOF occurred in violation of protocol`
15:01:09 <truebrain> it just gave up after
15:01:25 <truebrain> seems the Discord API had a hickup
15:24:19 <peter1139> Technically that link is wrong too as releases don't actually update the website.
15:27:48 <peter1139> Whether that is something we should fix...

22:42:26 <ltnazz> Hey all I’ve recently gotten into this game and I would like to know how I can begin contributing to the effort. I have experience programming and using GitHub but I don’t have a ton of experience with contributing to open source projects. Figured this would be a good place to start learning
22:50:37 *** talltyler has joined #openttd
22:50:37 <talltyler> Welcome! A lot of people start by making content mods (NewGRF), but you can also contribute to OpenTTD itself. Maybe you have a bee in your bonnet about something you want to fix for your own games. Otherwise, there is a “good first issue” issue tag on GitHub that has an interesting collection of easy bugfixes and quandaries that need some out-of-the-box thinking.
