05:58:49 <LordArtoo> truebrain: how rude
06:04:04 <peter1139> Huh, I managed to Strava fly-by myself.
06:04:42 <peter1139> And over 100 miles, only 3 others show up. Hmm.
06:12:49 <peter1139> This went from "Well, I'll drive there", via "I can catch a train", settling on "Might as well ride the whole way."

11:29:33 *** f_ has quit IRC (Server closed connection)
11:32:17 <FLHerne> bit of a moot point given that OTTD is on GitHub
11:35:14 *** LordArtoo is now known as LordAro
11:35:24 <LordAro> yeah, but my work is not
11:45:10 *** kuhnovic has joined #openttd
11:45:10 <kuhnovic> We just moved to gitlab a few weeks ago (at work)
11:46:58 <andythenorth> Is bitbucket no longer the weapon of choice for not-github?
11:49:02 <LordAro> i'm not sure anything atlassian is the weapon of choice for anything
11:58:29 *** Guest403 is now known as TinoDidriksen

12:26:17 <FLHerne> Yes, I don't remember bitbucket ever being the answer
12:26:34 <FLHerne> thank God Phabricator is dead, anyway
12:26:56 <FLHerne> I like the idea behind sourcehut but can't see businesses going for it
12:28:04 <LordAro> looks very much like github
12:29:41 <FLHerne> I came across an active project hosted on SourceForge the other week
12:30:14 <FLHerne> now that brought back memories and not in a good way :p
12:30:40 <LordAro> there's still a few out there
12:31:03 <LordAro> i've seen several that do their dev on github/whatever, but still publish to SourceForge
12:42:57 <truebrain> I was shocked the other day to find out SourceForge still actually exists

13:25:50 <andythenorth> Isnβt it essential for malware distribution?
13:26:45 <andythenorth> That open source critical infrastructure xkcd should have referenced that the project was still hosted on sourceforge π
13:44:16 <yiffgirl> LordAro: forgejo is great. a friend of mine runs an instance of it and i use it regularly in preference over github
13:44:16 <yiffgirl> apparently the devs are working toward getting it federated as well, so you can use it between instances instead of needing an account per instance
13:47:04 *** peter1138 has joined #openttd
13:47:04 <peter1138> I use gitea, as I was using it way before forgejo was forked.
13:55:02 <yiffgirl> real ones remember gogs

14:10:31 *** audigex has joined #openttd
14:10:31 <audigex> I use gitea just to mirror my GitHub stuff mostly, and a few projects Iβm worried about being hit by takedown requests
14:10:31 <audigex> Been a long time since I bothered hosting my own version control though - used mercurial on Bitbucket for a long time and now the standard GitHub setup
14:10:39 *** peter1139 has joined #openttd
14:30:06 <pickpacket> I have my own stuff on notabug.org, which runs gog. Works well enough
14:57:45 <truebrain> w00p, finished the last peice of the OCI stuff, so I can freely migrate between AWS to OCI and back if I would like to
14:57:50 <truebrain> the infra auto-adjusts
14:58:27 <pickpacket> Every other minute?
14:58:51 <truebrain> but we have some GitHub automation to call back into our infra .. that needed to be aware whether it has to call AWS or OCI. It now doesn't need to know, and the backend forwards the request to both, for them to figure out if they should do anything with it. And it works \o/
14:58:57 <truebrain> sometimes the simplest solutions are the best π

15:17:32 <truebrain> so I guess tomorrow or so I will flip the switch and see how BaNaNaS does on OCI π All looks good from my end, but I know there is nothing better than an actual live test π
