18:58:00 <dale> _dp_: ripgrep has -e PATTERN so you can do 'rg file1 file2... -e bar' to look for bar, then just up arrow. I'd be ag has similar. (PSA: I think ripgrep is probably better than ag these days.) If you're using a shell based on readline, like Bash, you can probably hit alt-. (alt period) to copy the last argument of the last command to your current command, so type "grep new_pattern
