19:37:44 <mczapkie> Does anybody know, how to inherit all translators into newgrf project on dev.openttdcoop.org? (Inherit members checked, eints added as Translation manager, still no other translators granted)
19:39:33 <frosch123> is your project a subproject of "newgrf" or "game scripts"?
19:41:06 <frosch123> well, which project is it?
19:41:46 <frosch123> it is a toplevel project, no subproject
19:42:14 <frosch123> go to settings and make it a subproject of "newgrfs"
19:43:16 <mczapkie> i have no option for 'newgrfs' in subproject of list
19:43:27 <frosch123> maybe it's called grfdev
19:44:08 <mczapkie> no, only some my other projects are listed
19:44:34 <frosch123> oh, i did not know it is restriced like that
19:45:18 <frosch123> i changed it for you
19:46:11 <mczapkie> thanks, it works now
19:47:06 <mczapkie> so I forgot to define newgrf subproject during initialization and now I was doomed :)
19:50:29 <planetmaker> happens. Nothing which isn't easily fixed. Though yes, not everyone can move projects around :)
19:52:00 <mczapkie> Thanks for help. I must leave, uniteruptible call from wife...

20:18:57 <__ln__> is it true that the netherlands is not using 1c and 2c coins anymore?
20:20:41 <frosch123> they are similar to 2x4 lego bricks
20:21:08 <Alberth> but round and flat instead of rectangular :p
20:22:15 <frosch123> pff, there was no such thing in lego when i used lego
20:22:24 <Alberth> __ln__: yes, I think so, didn't get one in ages
20:22:28 <frosch123> you should build proper coins
20:26:29 <Rubidium> __ln__: lies... most shops round to 5 cent, though there are (some) shops that still give you 1 and 2 cent coins and all companies should accept them
20:29:58 <Wolf01> if you consider that 1c and 2c coins cost more than the value impressed on them, you could get them all and try to sell them to a scrap metal recycling industry
20:33:57 <frosch123> did the steel price increase?
20:34:00 <Eddi|zuHause> the japanese did that with italian coins in the 70's, then that practice was made illegal
20:34:27 <frosch123> 1cent used to cost 1cent in production in 2009, but production is more expensive than what you get from scrap
20:34:41 <Wolf01> once you hammer them, they aren't coins anymore :P
20:36:39 <Eddi|zuHause> steel is not worth much in scrap, but copper is
20:38:28 <Eddi|zuHause> that's still 5% copper :p
20:39:56 <frosch123> @calc 2.3*0.0565*3.5/1000
20:39:56 <DorpsGek> frosch123: 0.000454825
20:40:14 <frosch123> yeah, you get 0.045 cent per cent
20:41:55 <frosch123> @calc 2.3*0.0565*4.5/1000
20:41:55 <DorpsGek> frosch123: 0.000584775
20:42:14 <frosch123> ok, the current rate is somewhat better
20:42:23 <frosch123> if it was 100% copper, it would be worth it :)
20:43:34 <Wolf01> maybe they summed production cost too, i can't find the article
20:43:52 *** FLHerne has joined #openttd
20:47:07 <Eddi|zuHause> if you assume that 20% of production cost is materials, and the 95% iron costs the same as the 5% copper, then you get a production cost of 5*2*0,05, which is 0,5
20:48:12 <Eddi|zuHause> then sprinkle in a bit for distribuition from the mint to the banks

22:51:17 <m1cr0man> (sorry was nick registering) I'm looking to copy my OpenTTD GRFs and stuff from my windows portable install to my linux laptop. I have tried everything, and I just can't get it to detect the GRFs im adding. On top of that, I can't find where the GRFs im downloading as a test are saving to (using find on / as root). Can anyone tell me how I would copy my GRFs?
22:52:28 <FLHerne> m1cr0man: ~/.openttd/newgrf is where you should put them
22:52:47 <FLHerne> Ones downloaded ingame go to ~/.openttd/content_download/newgrf
22:53:23 <FLHerne> Similarly, savegames to ~/.openttd/save
22:54:51 <planetmaker> a hooray to the do-not-readme, chapter 4, section 2 :)
22:55:42 <FLHerne> planetmaker: Is there any way to view the readme ingame? That might help slightly
22:56:01 <planetmaker> I don't think there is
22:56:06 <m1cr0man> FLHerne, I was making sure, but that folder is in .config/openttd
22:56:12 <m1cr0man> also, thats where I was trying to put the files
22:56:32 <m1cr0man> I'm going to try again from scratch and just log exactly what im doing
22:56:37 <FLHerne> m1cr0man: That's odd, are you using some weirdly-patched distro package?
22:56:40 <planetmaker> m1cr0man, then it's your distro which changed the defaults
22:56:50 <m1cr0man> Lubuntu? Should be standard ubuntu package
22:59:15 <m1cr0man> Ok, so how would they've done that so that I can find out where the heck its putting the GRFs
22:59:26 <planetmaker> oh... it actually depends... :)
22:59:26 <m1cr0man> I mean, how can I change it back?
22:59:26 <planetmaker> 285 Linux: $XDG_DATA_HOME/openttd which is usually ~/.local/share/openttd when
22:59:26 <planetmaker> 286 built with XDG base directory support, otherwise ~/.openttd
22:59:56 <m1cr0man> echo $XDG_DATA_HOME is blank
23:00:12 <planetmaker> but there's no need to change it, is there?
23:00:47 <FLHerne> I remember it being normal ~/.openttd when I used Ubunu
23:00:54 <FLHerne> Was a while ago though
23:01:06 <m1cr0man> well there are configs in ~/.config/openttd
23:01:07 <planetmaker> on my ubuntu 14.04 it's ~/.openttd
23:01:21 <m1cr0man> and they do seem to have an effect if I change them
23:01:23 <planetmaker> but... I didn't install from ubuntu repo
23:01:26 <m1cr0man> my lubuntu is 15.04 based
23:02:07 <planetmaker> anyway, the place where it's stored doesn't matter as long as you know it...
23:03:12 <m1cr0man> Im just so impressed that its hiding dl'ed grf's from me. They must be in an archive with some random name
23:04:55 <planetmaker> it's not hiding them. Everything downloaded from ingame is shipped in tar archives
23:05:12 <m1cr0man> Ok, and are they given non-relative file names?
23:05:19 <planetmaker> as openttd transparently reads those, it keeps the grfs inside those, nicely bundled with their documentation
23:05:57 <m1cr0man> From the GRFs I have from windows, the tar name matches the GRF
23:06:30 <planetmaker> our content deliver doesn't distinguish your OS; filenames are the same
23:07:01 <m1cr0man> Alright, well thats that confirmed. Thanks
23:07:35 <planetmaker> if openttd finds the newgrfs in one of its search paths, they'll be available
23:08:28 <planetmaker> what *does* differ between OS is the path separator used in your openttd.cfg as windoze uses \ instead of /
23:08:34 <planetmaker> thus any newgrf preset might be broken
23:08:44 <planetmaker> but that shouldn't matter for any existing game
23:10:06 <m1cr0man> wow, I found it. In game, its listed in lower case.
23:10:12 <m1cr0man> its actually storing it in ~/.local/share/openttd too
23:17:55 <tipsyTentacle> On a different topic, what are some fun people to watch play openttd on youtube?
