03:56:35 <Rubidium> DaleStan: thanks for the answers. However... CSDset 1.5.0 RC1 is "using" variable 41 which is, according to you, not possible/correct.
03:57:37 <DaleStan> Interesting. I'll take a look.
04:01:50 <_minime_> Rubidium: that's not for callback 16
04:02:16 <_minime_> it uses var41 for selection of the graphics set to draw
04:02:33 <_minime_> callback 16 is based on var 10
04:03:04 <Rubidium> _minime_: then why is the result different when calling it with and without vehicle information?
04:04:06 <_minime_> that's an interesting question
04:05:09 <_minime_> although - do you in one of the cases call the callback as if it was in purchase window?
04:05:37 <_minime_> because in the purchase window it doesn't handle the callback at all
04:06:01 <_minime_> it only displays a single sprite every time
04:07:03 <_minime_> does the num_vehicles get set to 1, before your allocation? (that's what i kept seeing, but I just thought i never caught it in a breakpoint at the right time)
04:07:25 <Rubidium> hmm, that might be true
04:08:10 <DaleStan> I too, found no uses of var 41 in callback 16. Which is the offending vehicle?
04:08:10 <DaleStan> My understanding is that very few callbacks are called from the purchase window. (23 seems to be the only such vehicle callback.)
04:08:17 <Rubidium> however... that would mean that there need to be two functions to count the vehicles
04:08:45 <Rubidium> DaleStan: looks like I was wrong; it must have been the drawing that was doing it
04:09:14 <Rubidium> however, the purchase window thingy might be the case (though that would be pretty well hidden somewhere in OTTD's code)

15:15:07 <glx> and what action causes it?
15:16:42 <Ammller> can also happen, if nobody is connected
15:17:29 <Ammller> can I debug it somehow?
15:18:05 <glx> add a printf("%s\n", data); before this assert

17:26:38 <glx> to delete a vehicle drag it over the bin
17:26:39 <Rubidium> drag it to the thingy on the right-top
17:27:05 <glx> to build an airplane click on the hangar tile of the airport
17:28:32 <Otto90x> Well I don't see any bin in the upper right corner.
17:28:49 <glx> sorry the bin was the old graphic
17:29:03 <glx> it's now a single vehicle with a red cross
17:29:45 <Otto90x> i can't see that either

17:31:01 <Otto90x> ok, problem solved thanks. I was missing the one texture file, so the picture was replaced by ?

18:49:18 <Txus> I was looking for some help using the custom graphics in OTTD
18:49:53 <TrueBrain> Txus: just ask :) Maybe someone can and will help you
18:50:37 <Txus> Do I need some software to install them? or it's just a file download and n?
18:52:49 <Txus> I see two different graphics: One with different stations and buildings in the same style of classic TTD
18:53:01 <Txus> and another with high res high colour buildidngs
18:53:06 <Nite> you just copy the newgrfs to your "data" directory in your ottd directory
18:53:36 <Nite> (the highres highcolor isnt done jet i think)
18:53:47 <Txus> Can I have different kind of stations? or are all the stations replaced with the nwe grf?
18:53:51 <Nite> then you can select them ingame!
18:54:21 <Nite> you can select the station you like = different
18:54:51 <Nite> old vehicles are overwritten by teh new sets - not all sets work together nor in every climate
18:55:31 <Nite> start with the "uk renewal set" or the american transition (us set) maybee ...
18:56:30 <Nite> though there are few online games using newgrfs :-/
18:56:49 <Txus> so my client wont work with them?
18:57:21 <Nite> oyur client will always work with teh vanille (= original) sets
18:57:30 <Nite> wheather you have newgrfs or not
18:58:58 <Txus> Sure :) And I bet it's a typical question from ottd newbies :)
18:59:04 <Nite> come back here if u dont get it
18:59:22 <Nite> i would like to see everyone 2 play with some newgrf ...
18:59:22 <Txus> I played TTDX a loooot, and I've just discovered OTTD
18:59:51 <Nite> yeah otts is quite a flash then ...
19:00:22 <Txus> everything I though could be better by the time has been done!
19:01:06 <Txus> well, at least things I remember when I played TTDX
19:01:11 <Txus> like station and train sizes
19:01:22 <Txus> and slope building is great too
19:01:29 <Nite> notice teh replace function
19:01:41 <Nite> (and autoreplace in teh patch settings!
19:02:23 <Txus> and train clone... wow, a ton of improvements, it's like a new game :)
19:03:03 <Nite> train clone with "shift/strg" held down shares their routes (very usable must use!)
19:03:24 <Txus> I have yet a lot of thigs to discover :)
19:03:38 <Txus> One question about playing BTW
19:03:39 <Nite> the good thing is its still teh old game too!
19:03:58 <Txus> it brings the same great memories :)
19:04:09 <Txus> About gaming, if you startareally big map
19:04:25 <Txus> industries tend to disappear by lack of supply
19:04:34 <Txus> and I can't build that fast
19:04:42 <Txus> is there a way to avoid it?
19:04:51 <Nite> 2 big for me i like 512 512 or 256 x 1024 max
19:05:31 <Nite> there is a patch setting to keep tham from closing down at all ... but then there are no new ones build either
19:05:38 <Txus> I'm currently playing 1024 and Refineris are being closed one by one!
19:06:12 <Txus> When I earn enogh it's not hard to start funding new industries and it's not a problem
19:06:17 <Nite> deliver some goods from a more nerby resource first maybee
19:06:29 <Txus> but till then It's a pain to start loosing factories
19:06:46 <Txus> yeah, maybe a small truck station to keep them running...
19:06:49 <Nite> -> look in patch settings!
19:07:04 <Nite> many things there (as realistic train accelleratin !)
19:07:58 <Nite> few servers online now because 0.5.3 was just released)
19:11:15 <Nite> much more advanced versins that are not 100% stable
19:12:36 <Txus> and the only change I see is a new zoom level :) I thinnk the rest of the features are there hidden!
19:13:52 *** Digitalfox has joined #openttd
19:14:20 <Txus> I'm searching for the factory closing patch setting but I doon't see it
19:18:02 <Nite> sry ithought it was there maybee in some nightly
19:19:10 <Bjarni> I heard about extremely fat people, but country sized people....
19:19:20 <Nite> you have 2 get used to the refit order though
19:19:55 <Nite> refit coal hopper to ore hopper or the like ...
19:23:16 <Bjarni> be aware that refitting will refit every single unit in the train if possible
19:24:07 <Bjarni> also autoreplace might not work as it will reject the replacement if it can't refit to all the cargo types used in the refit orders
19:24:51 <Bjarni> it should be somewhat strait forward once you realise how it works though (hopefully)
19:28:01 <Nite> hte autoreplace works fine for me!
19:28:32 <Nite> also with refitted trains

20:56:28 <Rubidium> DaleStan: what was the idea behind the last comment of FS#286? Does it interfere with the patch I made last night? Or do I have to return the 16 bits verbatim when it is in the range of FF00-FFFF in the 8 bits context?
21:07:37 *** mcbane is now known as nairan
21:14:48 <DaleStan> Rubidium: Ah. That. I misunderstood the commit message, and then forgot I'd said that. Calculated results are used exactly as returned, with either the high bit or high 8 bits (In 15 and 8-bit contexts, resp.) cleared. This means that a calculated value of 7F00..7FFF/FF00..FFFF is taken to be a return value of 7F00..7FFF. For ordinary callback results, 7F00..7FFF can't be encoded, and FF00..FFFF means 0000..00FF instead.
21:16:12 <DaleStan> Side effect: It is possible to return values above 7EFF, but only using a calculated result, never with a normal result.
21:19:14 <Rubidium> hmm, something seems to be made more complex than actually needed
21:23:29 <Rubidium> or does it "just" means: remove either the high 1 or 8 bits depending on 15 vs 8 bit callbacks?
21:32:39 <Eddi|zuHause2> you often say "Das ist Käse" when something is really stupid
21:33:09 <Sacro> well i've never seen a briefcase of meat before
